BIOGRAPHY: JP DUMINY




Jean-Paul-Duminy was born on 14th April 1984 in Strandfontein, Cape Town, South Africa. He is 27 years old South African All-rounder. He is often named as JP Duminy. His nick name is JP Koppe. He is the left handed middle order batsman and an off spin bowler. He has represented South Africa in all three formats of cricket at international level. He represents his home team Cape Cobras at domestic level.
Duminy has proved himself to be a successful batsman and a useful change bowler by his skills and performances in international cricket. He generally occupies the top order. He is a skilled fielder too. He is also the out come of under-19 cricket. He was became known during South Africa's tour to England in 2003. His all-round performance in that series made his prominent for the selection in the international team.
Duminy made his ODI debut on 20th August 2004 at R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo against Sri Lanka. Although his performance on debut was very poor but later he did very well and has scored 2289 runs in 81 matches with the average of 40.87. He has taken 22 wkts and 12 catches. Later Duminy made his T20 debut during the ICC Twenty20 world cup 2007 against Bangladesh on 12th March at Newlands, Cape Town. He has played 32 T20s in which he has scored 715 runs with the average of 31. His best score in T20s is 96*.
Duminy waited a long for the test cricket and made his debut on December 17, 2008 at Perth against Australia. He scored unbeaten 50 runs in the second innings of the match which contribute in the victory against Australia. He has played 12 tests in which he has scored 518 runs with the average of 28.
He has an impressive domestic record in T20s. He plays for Cape Cobras and has played the 1st and 3rd Champions League with the Cape Cobras. He played in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians in the 2nd and 3rd edition and played for Deccan Chargers in the 4rth edition.
He is one of the very finest all-rounder in the ODIs and T20s.
